Who are we?

Sanctuary is for people hungry for stories, silence, singing, and soup. You are welcome, whatever your age, faith position, or cultural, gender or sexual identity. We meet at 4.15pm most Sundays at 241 Koroit Street, Warrnambool.

Our service is a mix of formal and informal. The liturgy itself is highly structured, but it allows for participation, movement, and a capella singing. There are always questions, interruptions, explanations, and usually a bit of laughter.

The service is followed by a potluck meal.

We seek to:

  • Cherish children, both as they are now and for the people they will become.
  • Honour whole selves – bodies, minds, hearts, and guts – in worship, work, and play.
  • Wrestle with big questions that have no easy answers.
  • Share life’s joys, sorrows, hopes, and fears, and open them up to the Christian narrative.

Sanctuary has Baptist connections, and is part of the ancient-future church movement.
